Last updated: 16/01/2026
By joining Storm Sail BJJ (“the Academy”, “we”, “us”), you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Membership eligibility
Membership is open to individuals who meet the age, safety, and conduct requirements of the Academy.
Participants under 18 must be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian.
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate membership where behaviour, safety, or compliance is compromised.
2. Membership types
Memberships may include adult, teens, kids, women-only, private, family, student, or other class formats offered by the Academy.
Class availability, schedules, and formats may change as the Academy evolves.
Founding Membership
Founding Memberships are offered at a special fixed rate for life, provided the member remains compliant with these Terms & Conditions and the Academy’s rules.
No additional discounts or concessions apply to Founding Memberships, including family or student discounts.
The Founding Member rate replaces all other pricing rules.
Family discount
A 10% family discount applies where two or more members from the same household hold active memberships.
The discount applies only to non-Founding Memberships.
The discount remains valid only while all eligible household members maintain active memberships.
Reasonable proof of shared household may be requested.
Student membership
Students may train at the under-16 membership rate, provided valid proof of student status is supplied.
This concession applies only to non-Founding Memberships.
Acceptable proof includes (but is not limited to):
A valid student ID card
An official enrolment or attendance letter from a school, college, or university
A current digital student verification (e.g. university portal or recognised verification service)
Student status must be valid at the time of membership and may be reviewed periodically.
3. Payments
Membership fees are payable monthly in advance.
Payments are normally collected on the first day of each calendar month via direct debit or other agreed method.
If the first payment date falls on a non-working day, collection may occur on the next working day.
Failure to pay may result in suspension of training access.
4. Mid-month joining & pro-rata fees
Members joining mid-month will pay a pro-rata fee, calculated based on the week of registration, assuming a four-week month:
Week 1: 100% of monthly fee
Week 2: 75%
Week 3: 50%
Week 4: 25%
Full recurring membership payments begin on the first day of the following calendar month.
5. Pausing membership
Memberships may be paused only due to injury.
Injury pauses:
Must be requested in advance or as soon as reasonably possible
May be granted for a maximum of 4 consecutive months
Are intended to hold a membership spot, subject to confirmation
Pauses for reasons other than injury are not guaranteed.
Evidence may be requested where appropriate.
6. Cancellation
Members may cancel at any time.
No refunds are issued for a month already paid if cancellation or pause was not requested before payment was taken.
In such cases, the membership remains valid until the end of that paid month.
Re-joining after cancellation is subject to space availability.
Founding Members retain priority access and pricing, subject to the Academy’s Founding Member policy.
7. Pricing changes
Membership prices may change with reasonable notice.
Price changes will not affect Founding Members, who retain their agreed rate for life, provided they remain in good standing.
Any price changes will be communicated in advance.
